I was at Eyal Shani’s Manhattan restaurant Shmoné when it won a Michelin star

The Israeli celebrity chef earned his first-ever Michelin star on Tuesday night for his seasonally-focused Greenwich Village restaurant.

From a high-end dinner at HaSalon to heart-shaped challahs at Breads Bakery, Jewish eateries across the city are raising money to support Israel.

The sale raised $27,000, enough for 2,000 meals for displaced families, according to the Jewish Food Society.
