US-Israel air defense system David’s Sling passes final tests, could be ready for ’16

The system, which is designed to stop long-range rockets, drones and cruise missiles, could be operational for the Israeli Air Force in 2016.

Twenty-one rockets fired from Gaza have hit Israeli territory in 2015, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

It was the second rocket fired from Gaza at southern Israel in less than a week and the 18th rocket fired from Gaza to hit Israeli territory in 2015.
