(JTA) — Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has resumed working even before being released from the hospital following cancer surgery, The Associated Press reported Monday.
Ginsburg, 85, underwent surgery last week to remove malignant nodules from her lungs.
Last month, the Jewish jurist cracked three ribs.
During a speech in Jerusalem earlier this year, Ginsburg described how her Jewish identity informed her judicial career, saying that “growing up Jewish, the concept of tikkun olam, repairing tears in the community and making things better for people less fortunate, was part of my heritage.”
“The Jews are the people of the book and learning is prized above all else,” she said. “I am lucky to have that heritage.”
A biopic about Ginsburg starring Felicity Jones premieres on Christmas Day.
