JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Palestinian woman who attempted to stab police officers deployed at the at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron was shot and critically wounded by security officers there.
The woman launched the attack on Wednesday morning at the site, which includes worship spaces for Jews and Muslims.
The woman was identified by the Palestinian Maan news agency as Suhail Ahmed Said Sulaimiya, 37, from the village of Idhna, located west of Hebron.
She was critically injured by the gunshot, the Jerusalem Post reported. Maan reported that she was taken to Shaare Tzedek medical center in Jerusalem.
