is a chef, writer, cooking instructor, and voluntary social worker. Born into a Syrian Jewish Mexican family, she has dabbled in the kitchen from a young age. With a master’s degree in fusion cuisine, Alegra has served banquets for up to 250 people. In 2009, she published her first cookbook “Un Placer Muy Particular” (A Very Special Pleasure), a compendium of 130 recipes from around the world.
