Yiddish Scientific Institute Conference Opens in New York: Discusses Jewish Culture

Problems of Jewish cultural life in the United States will be discussed at the three-day annual conference of the Yiddish Scientific Institute which opened here today attended by 200 delegates from various Jewish organizations.

At the opening session today, the conference adopted a declaration pledging “to enrich Jewish life in America with the life-giving spirit of Jewish creativity. The conference also pledged to help in the cultural restoration of Jewish life in devastated European countries. Principal speaker at the opening session was Prof. Harry J. Carman, Dean of Columbia College.
