The anniversaries of Sholom Aleichem and Joel Linietzky, famous Yiddish humorists, were celebrated at Cantabrigia. Hall here last night at a meeting sponsored by the Harvard Yiddish Book Fund Committee. The committee is a permanent organization which has set as its function the purchase of Yiddish books for the Harvard University Library.
Speakers at the meeting included Keyes D. Metcalf, director of the Harvard library, Dennis S. Dooley, librarian-in-chief of the Massachusetts State Library and Dr. A. A. Roback, psychologist and author who is a member of the committee. Mr. Metcalf praised Dr. Roback for his efforts in augmenting the Yiddish book collection at Harvard.
