Yasser Arafat’s illness threatens Ariel Sharon’s disengagement plan, Israel’s military intelligence chief said. “Once Arafat is no longer in the picture, pressure will grow on Israel to make the disengagement plan a matter of bilateral agreement” with the Palestinians, Maj. Gen. Aharon Ze’evi-Farkash was quoted as telling the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Tuesday.
