Forty-three percent more Americans visited Israel during Aug. 1977, compared with the same month in 1976, Israel Zuriel, Israel’s Commissioner for Tourism in North America announced here.
In the first eight months of 1977, more than 178,000 Americans visited Israel, 24 percent more than visited the country during the same eight months of 1976. “The eight-month 1977 figure is more than the total number of tourists who visited the country in the whole of 1975,” Zuriel pointed out.
