The Defense Department has made known that the Army dispatched a special airplane to Egypt to fetch the Egyptian Army Chief of Staff to Washington as an official guest of the United States. Gen. Mohammed Ibrihim, Chief of Staff, will arrive on Wednesday. He will be accompanied by Maj. Gen. Mustapha Youssef, Director of Military Training, and a number of other Egyptian staff officers.
The hospitality extended the Egyptian Chief of Staff contrasts sharply with that extended to Gen. Moshe Dayan, Israel Army Chief of Staff, who visited here recently. The Defense Department publicly announced that Gen. Dayan was required to provide his own transportation and it was made known that he was not considered an official guest of the government in the way that the Egyptian General is now to be accommodated.
The aircraft bringing the Egyptian group will take them to camps and bases throughout the country following a series of receptions in Washington. Official discussions will be held on the furnishing of training facilities and an arms grant to Egypt. The Egyptians will view the latest weapons and training methods. Lt. Gen. G.H. Decker, Comptroller of the Army, will greet the party on arrival.
