U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) promised to do all he can to ensure the return of Israeli soldiers who are missing in action. McCain, a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War, made his remarks at a dinner Sunday where he received the Defender of Jerusalem Award from the National Council of Young Israel. McCain, a candidate for the 2000 Republican presidential nomination, also promised to support a unified Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
