United Nations Secretary General Hammarskjold today announced at a press conference that he was giving “active consideration” to strengthening the observer group in Palestine under Maj. Gen. Vagn Bennike. He said he did not understand Danish reports that the Danish Government would ask Gen. Bennike to resign, and indicated that he had full confidence in the General.
