Dr. Konrad Bloch, of Cambridge, Mass., German-born Jewish scientist, shared today the $53,123 Nobel Prize for medicine or physiology. His co-recipient is Dr. Fedoro Lynen, of the Max-Planck Institute of Munich. They received the prize for their discoveries concerning the mechanism and regulation of cholesterol and fatty acid metabolism.
Dr. Bloch spent some time recently in the Weizmann Institute for Science, in Israel, doing research work in his specialty. Dr. Lynen also recently served as a visiting professor at the Weizmann Institute.
