Speaking before a group of ministers of the Reformed Church of America, Rabbi William F. Rosenblum of Temple Israel here yesterday attacked efforts by Christian religious leaders to convert Jews to Christianity. Rabbi Rosenblum suggested that since “there are so many hundreds of millions of Christians who do not practice what they profess” missionary efforts “might more profitably be directed to their salvation” rather than to the conversion of Jews.
In an effort to “promote and clarify” Orthodox Judaism, the Rabbinical Council of America has instituted a nationwide “Torah Tour” aimed at strengthening existing Orthodox institutions. The Council has organized regional teams of rabbis to visit urban and rural communities to encourage Orthodox Jewish life.
