The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington opened an exhibit commemorating the 60th anniversary of the voyage of the S.S. St. Louis. The exhibit, which runs through September, chronicles the ill-fated odyssey of the more than 900 Jewish passengers who fled Nazi Germany aboard the luxury liner, only to be turned away from American shores and forced to return to Europe, where many of the passengers perished in the Holocaust.
