The government has offered to help repair the Zaharani oil refineries near Sidon in south Lebanon which were heavily damaged in the fighting there a week ago. The refineries are owned jointly by Caltex and Mobil, both American oil companies. Energy Ministry officials estimated it would take about three months to repair tanks, pipes and pumps. The refineries themselves were not damaged, they said.
