The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers today had under consideration a request that it use $100,000 of its frozen funds in Germany for relief of Jewish and other oppressed songwriters in the Reich and Austria.
The request was made in the form of a resolution adopted yesterday by the Songwriters’ Protective Association at its annual meeting here. The $100,000 belonging to the A.S.C.A.P. represents royalties for the use of American songs in Germany. German currency regulations prevent its being exported.
