The Chief Rabbinate of Palestine and the Agudath Israel, organization of orthodox Jews, today proclaimed a fast day for tomorrow in protest against a bill in the Polish Parliament which would ban kosher slaughtering.

Rabbis from all over the country will assemble at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem for special prayers.

The action was taken in response to an appeal from the Polish rabbinate to Jewish communities throughout the world to join the Polish Jews in fast and prayer against the proposal.
