The number of Jewish pupils in the school system maintained by the Jewish National Council has increased from 27,706 last year to 32,788 this year, it was officially announced today.
The sum of $650,000 will be spent this year on the Jewish school system in Palestine. Only an insignificant fraction of it will be covered by government subsidies.
Today’s announcement also discloses that the number of teachers in the Jewish school system has increased from 1,057 last year to 1,217 this year.
Figures published today disclose that the number of casualties in Palestine is growing from month to month. During May there were seventy-three labor accidents, the highest ever registered in Palestine.
