A society news rumor in the Vienna press attracted wide attention here. According to the rumor, the former French Prime Minister Edouard Herriot is engaged to be married to Countess Auersperg, formerly the wife of Baron Otto Pollack von Parnegg.
Those interested in the problem of intermarriage viewed this society affair with double interest as additional proof that intermarriage between Jews and Christians, even in high society, is anything but a success. Countess Auersperg is not Jewish.
