Funeral services for Judge Max S. Levine of the Court of General Sessions, who died Sunday night, took place yesterday afternoon from the Shaare Zedek Congregation. Rabbis Herbert S. Goldstein and Elias Solomon officiated. Judge Otto A. Rosalsky delivered the eulogy. Interment was in the Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
Judge Levine was sick for several months following a serious operation. At his bedside when he died were his wife and his two daughters. Judge Levine was active in the political life of New York City for many years. He was one of the leaders of the Tammany organization and had been on the bench since 1919. He had been a judge in the General Sessions Court since 1927 when he received his first appointment from former Governor Smith.
The Judge was active in fraternal organizations and was closely associated with Jewish philanthropic endeavors. He was 52 years old.
