Prince Phillip, the Royal Consort, was attacked in a pro-Arab journal this week because he will address a joint charity dinner of which the Jewish National Fund is a co-sponsor. The event is the dinner given annually by the National Playing Fields Association of which Prince Phillip is president, and the JNF’s charitable trust. According to “Free Palestine,” an organ of local Arab groups, the Prince’s appearance at the dinner would be an affront to the Arab world.
A spokesman for the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace said they were aware of the article but had no further comment. Lord Luke said this will be the fifth time Prince Phillip has attended the affair and there was nothing new in it. “Free Palestine” charged that the Prince was pro-Jewish.
