A special executive order placing Abraham Krotoshinsky, hero of the Lost Battalion, in the classified civil service for clerical appointment in the New York post office was signed by President Coolidge upon the presentation of Congressman La Guardia. The salary was not announced but it is understood that it will furnish a livelihood to the veteran and his family.

The New York postmaster will decide on the post to which Krotoshinsky will be named. The President’s executive order enables Krotoshinsky’s appointment to full fledged clerk without examination. Congressman La Guardia who is a World War veteran, took the matter up with the President without a request having been made to him he having read about Kroto shinsky’s plight in the newspapers and decided to take action on his behalf.
