President Coolidge received today the three delegates of the Hakoah Sport Club of Vienna, which is sending a soccer team to this country for a series of matches. The delegates who visited the President are Dr. Ignace Koerner, president and founder of the organization in 1907, Dr. Julius Krausz and Dr. Albert Mazur.
The delegates related to the President the purposes and aims of the Hakoah club and the reason for its trip to the United States. The club was formed primarily for the physical development of the young Jews of Europe, and the fact that its representatives won European championships is only incidental, the delegates stated. The men became so proficient in their adopted sports that they won European titles in soccer, wrestling, swimming and field hockey.
Joseph McKee, president of the Board of Aldermer, has promised his whole-hearted support to the project to invite 10,000 orphans to the Polo Grounds on Sunday, April 25, to see the soccer game between the Hakoah Sport Club of Vienna, and a picked eleven from the New York State Football Association.
