The 1964 Allied Jewish Appeal has raised a total of $4,411,238, it was announced tonight by Leonard Goldfine, campaign general chairman, at the closing dinner of the drive. The 1964 campaign–the 26th such drive–was launched on March 4. It involved more than 10,000 volunteer solicitors and resulted in some 90,000 gifts.
Mr. Goldfine, in announcing the campaign’s results to more than 300 community and campaign leaders, emphasized that while the drive has been formally concluded, it cannot be considered as ended until every pledge card has been covered and every contributor has been given the opportunity to make a gift.
Judge Nochem 5.” Winnet, president of the Federation of Jewish Agencies, sponsor of the Allied Jewish Appeal, announced that Jack F. Adler will succeed Mr. Gold-fine as general chairman of the 1964 campaign, Mr. Adler had been advance gifts chairman.
