The Union of Palestinian Journalists announced a 24-hour strike Tuesday in the Gaza Strip, where the BBC’s Alan Johnston vanished last week. The union said the protest could be suspended if there are Israeli military actions to report on. There has been no public word on the fate of Johnston, the latest in a series of high-profile kidnapping victims in Gaza.
