While all synagogues in Palestine have been directed to recite psalms on Esther Taanith (the day before Purim) to implore divine mercy for the Russian Jews persecuted because of the religious war, the entire country is preparing to celebrate Purim, March 14, despite the abolition of the carnival in Tel Aviv.

The railways have reduced the fares, and thousands are expected to throng Tel Aviv, where the merchants announce that the shops will remain open until 10 P. M.
