A total of 61,541 Jews came from almost two score countries in 1935 to settle in Palestine, according to a statistical report issued today by the United Palestine Appeal.
The largest number came from Poland, which sent 27,291 Jews. Germany ranked second, with 7,747, exclusive of several thousand who came in as tourists but whose permanent stay will be legalized, and those who fled from Germany but came to Palestine from other European Countries.
Rumania was third with 3,596. Other countries and their total of emigrants to Palestine are: Greece, 2,122; Lithuania, 1,976; United States, 1,638; Yemen, 1,425; Czechoslovakia, 1,397; Latvia, 1,042; France, 1,021; Austria, 961; Turkey, 764. The balance was from other countries.
