New York Governor Designates May 14 As “israel Independence Day”

Averell Harriman designated May 14 as Israel Independence Day in a proclamation issued here yesterday. The Governor urged New Yorkers to join in “saluting the brave and hardworking Israeli people” on the ninth anniversary of the day Israel’s Declaration of Independence was issued.
