Six hundred Jewish families who have remained without permanent homes since a fire in Salonica in August, 1927, will be housed in a State-owned suburb, according to a development scheme announced today.
The development will cost 20,000,000 drachmas (about $400,000), of which half will be contributed by the Salonica municipality and the remainder in monthly payments by the occupants of the houses.
