The Board of Governors of the Hebrew University last night opened a three-day conference at which plans must be made to find a successor to Prof. Selig Brodetsky, president of the University, who recently submitted his resignation.
It is understood that the Board plans to appoint a subcommittee which will be charged with the responsibility of nominating a new president. The Board also discussed the University’s economic status and will prepare the groundwork for a meeting of the Board of Trustees next summer. Dr. George S. Wise, Joseph Mazer and Dr. Israel Wechsler, leaders of the American Friends of the Hebrew University, arrived from the United States to attend the current session.
