The newspaper Mokkatam, in an interview with Iraq leaders, publishes purported further details of the division of Palestine reputedly under consideration by the British Royal Commission.
The proposed Jewish canton, says the interview, would stretch from Tel Aviv to Hedera and include the Jezreel Valley up to the Hills of Judea. The Arab canton would include Jaffa, Gaza and Beersheba and extend to Hafa. Safed, Haifa and Aere would be proclaimed Crown colonies, says the interview, while Jerusalem and Bethlehem would be made international cities.
The Palestine Government would allot $25,000,000 of its treasury surplus to transfer Arabs who so wished from the Jewish to the Arab canton, according to Mokkatam.
