Nazism apparently was more important than marital happiness to Libertus Stoye, once of this town, and now a full-fledged adherent of Hitler in Germany, for his wife, Mrs. Charlotte Stoye, has been granted a divorce on the grounds of desertion.
They were married in 1927 in New York and she alleged the husband deserted her seven months later. Mrs. Stoye testified that Libertus always had leanings toward National Socialism and hence she was not surprised when she learned that he had gone to Berlin and had become an active Nazi, in the interim forgetting all about her and their daughter, Charlotte, not yet seven years old.
Thomas J. Stanton, Advisory Master in Chancery, who heard the evidence, recommended the decree.
