The German newspaper Boersenzeitung has denounced Britain for permitting transfusions of Jewish blood to captured German aviators, declaring that this “recalls the tortures of the darkest medieval times,” according to a broadcast by William Shirer, Columbia Broadcasting System correspondent in Berlin.
The Boersenzeitung asserted: “We know that the British never observe international rights. But what purpose does it serve the English to force Jewish blood into the arteries of our pilots, thus torturing them physically?”
