Funeral services will be held at Temple Emanu-El here tomorrow for Mrs. Madeline B. Borg, who died here yesterday at the age of 77. The widow of Sidney C. Borg, an investment banker, she had been active for more than 50 years in almost every phase of philanthropic work, but was best known for her work with the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies.
A founder of the Federation, Mrs. Borg created its women’s division and served as its chairman for 27 years. She also helped to found the Jewish Big Sister movement and was president of the Jewish Board of Guardians here for ten years. She was the holder of an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Columbia University.
