The International League Against Racism and Anti-Semitism today adopted a resolution asking for Moslem-Jewish rapprochement in Algeria.
The League, which held a plenary session in the UNESCO building here, attended by 200 delegates from Metropolitan France and North Africa, heard reports from Algeria which asserted that the Jewish and Moslem communities can continue to live peacefully and cooperate under the new independent regime. The delegates also recalled that many Algerian Moslems opposed Vichy’s racist anti-Semitic laws, and assisted persecuted Jews.
