The Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee in the Soviet Union was dissolved by the Moscow authorities and its organ “Einigkeit” was closed |down, it was reported here in a broadcast over the Voice of America. (In Washington, the Soviet Embassy said it would make inquiries to Moscow regarding the report.)
“Einigkeit” is the only newspaper published in the Yiddish language in Moscow. The Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee was the only central Jewish body in the Soviet Union. No reason for the liquidation of the organization and the Jewish paper was given, the Voice of America said in its report from Moscow.
