West Bank leaders who want to aid refugees from the Lebanese war have been told by Red Cross officials to send cash rather than foodstuffs and medical supplies. The officials attended a special refugee relief meeting convened in Hebron by Mayor Fahd Kawassmeh. They said the Red Cross organization lacked the facilities to move truckloads of supplies to Lebanon across the Rosh Hanikra checkpoint on the Israeli-Lebanese border.
