A contribution of $50,000 towards and Endowment Fund for the Yeshiva, was made by Mendel Gottesman, President of the Hudson Trading Company, paper manufacurers, according to an Revel, President of the faculty of the Yeshiva.
The fund, which will be known as be “Mr. and Mrs. Mendel Gottesman Fund” will be administered by the Yeshiva Endowment Foundation, Inc., which was recently incororated under the laws of the State of New York.
The annual income of the Gottesman fund will be divided as follows: 40 per cent. of the income will be expended for the general maintenance of the Yeshiva and 60 per cent. will be employed to creste a special scholarship fund for the assistance of meritortion students in the institution. Mr. Gottesman is vice-chairman of the Yeshiva College Building Fund.
Dr. Revel explained that the Yeshiva Endowment Foundation will receive gifts and devises in perpetual trust, the income of which will be used fore the support of the Foundation, under the charter granted at Albany will be governed by a Board of seven Directors. The Directors of the Foundation are: Mendel Gotiesman, Treasurer of the Yeshiva and President of the Yeshiva Endowment Foundation, Inc, Nathan Lamport, President of the Board of Directors of the Yeshiva, Harry Fischel, Chainman of the Yeshva Building Committee: Semuel Levy, Chairaman of the Yeshva College Campaign Committee; Louis Gold, Vice-Chairaman; Dr. Bernard Revel and Harry Roggen.
