Rabbi Schneursohn, the famous Lubawitscher Rebbe who was arrested and later released by the Soviet government, arrived in Riga today to take up his residence here. The rabbi was accompanied by the eight members of his family.
All the belongings of the Rabbi and his family were brought to Riga in four railroad cars. The Rabbi brought with him his entire library consisting of 10,000 books and valuable manuscripts. Among the manuscripts are several of Bal-Shem-Tov and Zemach Zedek.
A tremendous ovation was accorded Rabbi Schneursohn upon his arrival at the Riga station.
