Louis P. Rocker, president of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, issued the following statement on the death of Mr. Landau: “The JTA mourns the untimely passing of Jacob Landau who until recently served as its executive head. Mr. Landau founded the JTA in 1917 and continued actively in its direction until his recent retirement from the service. He developed the JTA and its subsidiary services and has rendered a distinguished service in the field of Jewish news and to the Jewish community as a whole.”
