The return to New York tomorrow of the United Nations Middle East envoy. Ambassador Gunnar Jarring, for consultations with Secretary General Thant, foreshadows a new chapter in the search for peace in the Middle East. The Times of London said. The paper declared that Ambassador Jarring was expected to take the initiative soon to convene a face-to-face meeting between Israel and the Arabs, probably on Cyprus.

“It is, of course, much too early to predict whether the forthcoming meetings at Nicosia – should they materialize – will prove the basis for a modus vivendi between the Arabs and Israelis,” The Times said.
