Leopold Jessner, director of the Staatstheatre and most famous producer in Germany, has accepted the invitation of the Theatre Guild in New York to come to the United States next fall.
Mr. Jessner is a devoted Jew and is affiliated with the Zionist movement.
A farewell luncheon will be given today at the Hotel Pennsylvania, in honor of Judge Harry M. Fisher of Chicago. who is sailing for Palestine to survey the Jewish colonization program being carried out to develop the country as the Jewish homeland. Leaders in the Zionist movement will be present. Dr. Stephen S. Wise will be the chairman.
Judge Fisher has been one of the leaders in the United Palestine Appeal campaigns in Chicago and the Middle West and the luncheon is being given in recognition of his services during the past year.
