The law providing for denationalization of French citizens who fled the country during the last few weeks of the war has been modified to allow children who possess satisfactory war records to recover part or all of the confiscated property of their parents, it was announced today.
Commenting on this law, Jewish circles pointed out that Guy de Rothschild, son of Baron Edouard de Rothschild, had been mentioned in war dispatches for brilliant conduct and that both sons of Robert de Rothschild were prisoners with excellent records. The Vichy Government has confiscated Rothschild property in France.
It was also announced that Isaac Grodziensky, co-publisher of the Pariser Haint, had been deprived of his citizenship for leaving France during the time when the armistice was being negotiated.
