Radio President Balmeceda reported today that four members of the Ku Klux Klan in Chile accused of anti-Semitic activities, appeared before an Appeals Court judge in Santiago.
The four have been under arrest for some time because of a suit brought against them by the Jewish Community. At the same time, a writ was presented on behalf of Franz Schweitzer, Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan. The court postponed decision until further study of the case is made.
The four are charged with attempting to bomb a synagogue in Santiago and with sending threatening letters to Jews here demanding that they send funds to a certain Horace Sherman, Ku Klux Klan, Post Office Box 5062, Waco Texas. The Jews were threatened that their business enterprises would be bombed if they did not pay the blackmail.
