Simon Kuper, noted Zionist leader who was recently appointed a justice of the South African Supreme Court, was honored here last night at a dinner at which he was presented with a silver salver in recognition of his leadership of the Zionist movement in this country. A grove of 1,000 trees in Israel will also be planted in his honor. Israel Minister Itzhak Bavli, who was one of the principal speakers at the dinner, paid tribute to Judge Kuper and expressed regret that his elevation to the bench will deprive the Jewish community of South Africa of his active leadership.
