Judge Louis E. Levinthal, retiring Jewish advisor to the American military staff in Germany, is scheduled to leave for the U.S. by plane Dec. 28, it was revealed here today, and his successor, Prof. William Haber, is expected to arrive here by Jan. 15.
In an interview with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Judge Levinthal paid tribute to the understanding of Jewish problems shown by American military leaders in Germany and Austria. He said the displaced Jews were particularly grateful to the U.S. Government for its role in finding a solution to the Palestine problem.
