Final returns show that Judge Harry Joelson of this city was not elected to Congress as seemed evident the day after the elections.
The final vote just tabulated shows that he was defeated by a plurality of 238 votes by Congressman George N. Seger, Republican, the present incumbent. For several days it appeared that there would be a recount but this plan has now been dropped and accordingly there will be ten Jewish Congressmen in the next House instead of 11 as originally announced.
