A joint committee composed of representatives from all the towns destroyed or that suffered from the riots, including Jerusalem, Hebron and Safed, was organized here today in order to expedite reconstruction and the payment of compensation.

A strong plea to allocate land in the vicinity of Hebron for the settlement of the former Jewish inhabitants of Hebron is contained in a third petition just submitted insisting that the government is responsible for the disaster and demanding full compensation for lives, honor and property, and long term loans such as the government gave to the Beersheba Bedouins during the drought.
