A Palestine bazaar for the benefit of the $100,000 Kfar Ussishkin fund of the Jewish National Fund will be held during the Chanukah Festival in December.
Plans were announced by Samuel Fishman, chairman of the Administrative Committee of the JNF council for Greater New York. The bazaar is to be held in a Manhattan hall, and is to have a city-wide character lasting for at least ten days. A committee of prominent merchants and leaders to sponsor the undertaking is being formed, it was stated.
The local Palestine bazaar is to be modelled after similar enterprises held annually by Zionists and workers of London, England, where Palestine bazaars have attained a high measure of success, becoming the source of more than 60 per cent of the contributions of the Jewish population of the British metropolis toward the Zionist land-redeeming agency.
